In three short years, Leeds quartet English Teacher have risen from promising newcomers to one of the UK’s most acclaimed breakthrough bands, cementing that position by winning this year’s prestigious Mercury Prize for celebrated debut ‘This Could Be Texas’. Praised by NME as “an adventure in sound and words, and a landmark statement”, with a mesmeric and special frontwoman in Lily Fontaine, their KOKO show will be a deserved toast to a game-changing 2024 for the group.
