A defining work of British photography

Sophy Rickett’s ‘Pissing Women’ is one of the most talked-about photographic series of the 90s.

A rare opportunity to acquire this iconic photograph, exclusive to KOKO - a signed, limited edition in celebration of KOKO’s 125-year anniversary, hand finished by the artist.

Vauxhall Bridge 2 (1995/2026) is one of the earliest images from Sophy Rickett's landmark series Pissing Women (1995), showing the artist and friends urinating in public spaces tied to finance, government and institutional power.

First shown in the mid-1990s, it remains one of Rickett's best-known works, held in the V&A's permanent collection, and featuring this October in The 90s at Tate Britain, curated by fashion industry game-changer, Edward Enninful OBE.

Equal parts humorous and confrontational, the series explores gender, power and public space, exposing who belongs, who is seen, and how bodies are policed in urban environments. Nearly thirty years on, its themes remain strikingly current, giving this early print lasting critical weight and appeal for collectors.

In 2024, a photograph from the same series was selected by The Guardian as one of ‘38 photographs that changed the way we see women’.
